Maxilla allograft transplantation model in rat
Özet
Complex midfacial deformities including maxilla defects are always a challenge. Although debatable before the clinical introduction of face allotransplantation, midfacial defect reconstructions necessitated multiple stages of surgeries in order to support and reestablish the complex function of the nasal and maxillary regions (Gastman et al., Plast Reconstr Surg 130:419-422, 2012). The midfacial region as a part of viscerocranium harbors nasal passage, oral soft tissue, lips and dental structures including hard and soft palates and mucosal linings. As the starting point of alimentary and respiratory system and as an aesthetically important region reconstructive parameters are very demanding. © Springer-Verlag London 2015.
