Hemşirelik öğrencilerinin diyabetli hasta eğitimine ilişkin bilgi düzeylerinin değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Amaç: Bu araştırma; hemşirelik öğrencilerinin diyabetli hasta eğitimine ilişkin bilgi düzeylerinin değerlendirilmesi amacıyla tanımlayıcı olarak yapıldı. Gereç ve Yöntem: Araştırmanın örneklemini, Hemşirelik Yüksekokulu öğrencilerinden araştırmaya katılan 390 kişi oluşturdu. Veriler araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan 'Öğrenci Bilgi Formu' ve 'Diyabetli Hasta Bakımına İlişkin Bilgi Düzeyini Değerlendirme Formu' kullanılarak toplandı. Bulgular: Analiz sonuçlarına göre 3. ve 4. sınıfta eğitim gören öğrencilerin puanları, 1. sınıfta eğitim gören öğrencilerin puanlarına göre istatiksel olarak anlamlı derecede yüksek bulundu. Akademik başarısını kötü olarak tanımlayan öğrencilerin puanlarının da en düşük seviyede olduğu belirlendi. Değerlendirme formu içinde en çok bildiklerini ifade ettikleri maddeler, diyabetin tanımı ve belirtileri ile ilgili idi. Sonuçlar: Çalışma sonuçlarına göre; öğrenci hemşirelere Diabetes Mellitus hastalığındaki önemli konuların interaktif eğitim yöntemleriyle verilmesi, klinik alanlarda öğrencilerin bu grup hastaların bakımı odaklı eğitim olanakların arttırılması önerilmektedir.

Objective: Scope of this study is to assess the knowledge level of nursing students on diabetic patient education. Material and Method: Sample group of the study consists of 390 Graduate School Nursing Students. Data were collected by using "Student Information Form" and "Diabetic Patient Care Knowledge Level Assessment Form". Findings: According to the analysis results, it was found out that 3rd and 4th grade students have significantly more comprehensive knowledge on the subject when compared to 1st grade students. It was also found out that the students who identify their academic success as "bad" has the lowest points. Most known terms on their forms were identified as the definition of diabetes and its' symptoms. Conclusion: According to the study results; it was suggested to provide interactive training to nursing students for important topics of Diabetes Mellitus and to increase the opportunities for trainings focused on this group of patients.
