This study examines the care strain of family carers (FCs) who are caring for patients with cancer, with a particular focus on the differences between the experiences of male and female FCs. The sample for the descriptive study consisted of 200 FCs. While both male and female FCs encountered caregiving-related challenges, female FCs perceived a greater care strain. Female FCs spent more time caring for their patients, encountered more difficulties in their work lives, and experienced higher levels of physical and psychological problems than male FCs. It is crucial for healthcare professionals to be aware of the needs of FCs, particularly women, and to plan their care accordingly.en_US
