Bir vakıf üniversitesi sağlık hizmetleri meslek yüksekokulu öğrencilerinin hasta hakları konusundaki görüşlerinin değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Hasta hakları, insan hakları kuramında “sağlık hakkı” olarak ifade edilen temel hakka dayandırılır, hastalar için karşılanması gereken temel gereksinimleri ifade eder. Son elli yılda tıp teknolojisi ve sağlık hizmetlerindeki büyük değişime paralel gündeme gelen hasta hakları, günümüzde sağlık sistemi içerisinde yerleşik bir konum kazanmıştır ve bu konumun gelecekte de kalıcı olacağı öngörülmektedir. Çalışma bir Vakıf Üniversitesi Sağlık Hizmetleri MYO öğrencilerinin (Sağlık Kurumları İşletmeciliği, Tıbbı Dökümantasyon, Anestezi, Tıbbi Görüntüleme, Acil ve İlk Yardım) hasta hakları konusundaki görüşlerini değerlendirmek amacıyla tanımlayıcı olarak yapılmıştır. Çalışmanın evrenini Sağlık Hizmetleri MYO’da 1. ve 2. sınıf öğrencileri oluşturmuş, öğrencilerin tamamı örnekleme alınmıştır. Araştırma, katılmaya gönüllü olan 126 öğrenci üzerinde yürütülmüştür. Öğrencilerin %69,8’unun tıp hukuku eğitimi almamış, öğrencilerin %61,1’inin tıp etiği eğitimi almamış olduğu saptanmıştır. Sonuç olarak, Sağlık Hizmetleri MYO öğrencilerinin ders içeriklerinde hasta hakları konusuna daha çok yer verilmesi, öğrencilerin bu konuda daha duyarlı olmaları konusunda başka bir takım çalışmaların yapılabilmesi yönünde teşvik edilmesinin yararlı olacağı kanaatine varılmıştır.

Right of patients are based on the fundamental right, which is stated as the “right to health" in the human rights theory and represent patients’ essential requirements that have to be met (Bostan, 2007). Rights of patients that became a current issue in line with the great change in medicine technology and healthcare services within the last 50 years, have today won a permanent position embedded in the health system, such position anticipated to be permanent in the future also. This study has been performed as illustrative in order to assess the opinions of a foundation university, Healthcare Services Vocational School students (Health Facilities Administration, Medical Documentation, Anesthetics, Medical Imaging, Emergency and First Aid) concerning the rights of patients. Target population of the study was formed by the 1st and 2nd grade students of the High School and all students have been taken as sampling. The research was conducted with 126 students, volunteering to participate. It was determined that 69,8% of students hadn’t taken the “medical law” course and 61,1% of students hadn’t taken the “medical ethics” course. Management of Health Institutions students were agreed the most to this item. Consequently, it was concluded that the topic of patient rights should further be included in the lesson contents of Health Services VHS students and that it would be useful to encourage the students for some different studies to establish more sensitivity about the topic.
